| Vermeil beads are silver beads with a mostly 24kt gold plating. The plating varies in thickness depending on the quality and price of the beads and is expressed in microns. Since silver and gold are close on the table of element the bonding tends to be of high quality and less likely to be problematic than gold plating of lesser materials.
